The Tsurubeotoshi Mountain Pass, a famous fall foliage spot in Shirakami Sanchi (located on the border between Akita and Aomori Prefectures), will be open for the autumn-leaf viewing season this year!

The gate leading to the pass will be open from 9:00 a.m. on 1 October 2023 to 4:00 p.m. on 12 November 2023. Please note that access to the Aomori Prefecture side will remain closed.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to enjoy the stunning autumn foliage of Akita Shirakami, along with the nearby Tanashiro Marshland and Dakedai Forest.
