Pear Harvesting!
Japanese pears are big and juicy. At Kasahara Orchards in Happo Town, visitors can pick their own from the 650 pear trees that sprawl the property. 1 kg runs for 800 yen, and reservations are not required for families or groups of 2-3 people.
Menu items using harvested pears can be enjoyed at Shirakami Café located next to the orchard.
Shirakami Cafe is open year-round (closed on Tuesdays) from 11:00 ~ 16:00. The lunch menu is only available until 14:00.
