5-km Canoeing at the foot of Shirakami Sanchi
Legend says that the man-turned-dragon, Hachirotaro, swam down the Yoneshiro River after losing a fierce battle against a monk at Towada Lake in Akita Prefecture. Today areas around this river are considered “power spots,” spiritual areas that will make you feel one with nature. During the summer and fall, you can float along this river and relax among Shirakami’s wildlife.
This 5-km course will take you along winding bends and past a local shrine. Certified expert guides will keep you safe along the way!
