Winter will be upon us soon, so here are the latest updates regarding road and trail accessibility in the Akita Shirakami area.

(Manago Gate 1~Aomori Prefectural Border)
Passing through the Dairakyo Valley, access to Kurumidai camping ground, Dakedai Forest, Tanashiro Marsh, Mt. Fujisato-Komagatake’s Kuroishizawa Trail, and Tsurubeotoshi Pass will be closed for winter until next spring.
Town Road Kuroishi LineClosed for winterLeads to Kurumidai camping ground, Dakedai Forest, Tanashiro Marsh and Mt Fujisato Komagatake’s Kuroishi trailhead.
Kasuge Forest Road
ClosedMt Fujisato Komagatake’s Kabadai trailhead is closed for winter.

Yoneshiro Forest Line

Passage to Subari Dam is possible.
Shirakami Futatsumori Road

ClosedLeads to Mt Futatsumori which will remain closed for winter following the closure due to heavy rains in August 2022 (lifting of road closure for next year is undecided).

Prefectural Route 280 Juniko Park Line
ClosedLeads to Juniko Lakes and Nihon Canyon which are scheduled for winter closure from December, 2022 until next spring.
Refresh Village will remain closed.

Town Road Juniko Park Line
ClosedLeads to Juniko Lakes and Nihon Canyon which are scheduled for winter closure from December, 2022 until next spring. Refresh Village will remain closed. Operation of the Juniko snow hiking course for this winter remains undecided.
