Maiko are traditional Japanese entertainers. Come meet Akita Maiko in Noshiro City at former restaurant Kaneyu. Take pictures and talk with the maiko as you tour Kaneyu and learn more about its history and Japanese culture.
For an additional cost, visitors can also opt for the “lunch with Akita Maiko” plan which features a delicious meal with regional dishes.

- Things to bring
- When visiting Kaneyu, especially during the winter months, we highly recommend bringing warm socks. With tatami mat floors and the Japanese custom of removing shoes indoors, cozy socks will keep your feet toasty and allow you to fully enjoy the traditional Japanese experience.
