Michi no eki offer a space to recharge and learn more about the area you’re passing through on your road trip. Enjoy delicious meals and see various regional produce.

Mori no eki in Fujisato Town

This cute community market and restaurant is located next to the Shirakami Sanchi World Heritage Conservation Center. Visitors can see freshly harvested vegetables and local products. During lunch, enjoy a lamb rice bowl and soft serve ice cream with grated wasabi — all made with local ingredients. A cup of coffee brewed with the natural spring waters of Shirakami Sanchi is also recommended.

Otonomizu in Happo Town

Located near Mt. Futatsumori’s trailhead, this small michi no eki is famous for the natural spring water drinking station from which the clean waters of World Heritage Site Shirakami Sanchi flow. It is said that these waters were praised for its purity by Aomori Prefecture’s Tsugaru lord long ago, on his way to Edo (modern day Tokyo). Bring some water bottles and taste it for yourself. A perfect place to fill up before hiking.
